One of the oldest towns in the region — a tiny historic village with antebellum homes and a quiet pace that feels untouched by time.
Caledonia is one of the oldest settlements in the Arcadia Valley, founded in the early 1800s. A walk through town passes antebellum homes, the historic Caledonia Methodist Church, and quiet streets that feel far removed from the present day.
It's a small village — population just a few hundred — but its preservation and setting make it a charming stop for history lovers and photographers. Caledonia sits just south of the main valley and makes a pleasant detour on a loop that takes in Elephant Rocks, Taum Sauk, and the southern Ozarks.
